here comes the little bulldozer
Jun. 4th, 2009 10:28 pm"You're still the same Little Bulldozer."
"Little what?"
"Whenever you wanted something, you just plowed through whatever was in your way. You never gave up til you got what you wanted. It was Grandpa's nickname for you."
--Casey and Ro, "On the Wire"
Guess what, I'm finally de-aging Ro. After talking about doing this for months, I finally made icons and am going to get around to posting sometime this coming week before I leave. I'm going to de-age her to before she was in foster care, when she still lived with her grandparents and brother and actually wasn't immediately suspicious of the human race.
Canon doesn't give me much to go on - in fact, the quote above is the majority of my guidelines for playing bitty!Ro. So I'm going to be relying on a lot of headcanon. I realize five years old is pushing the timelines a bit, but I saw caps of Elle Fanning and went "YES. WANT." Basically, her characterization's going to be based on the quote. It's still Ro. Exceptfive six years old, and sans the cynicism. And louder.
Why am I doing this? Aside from the cute factor, I kind of want to try to play Ro before she started holding people at arm's length and became so cynical. Zeta's actually gotten her to let her guard down a lot more in canon, but... what the hell, this could be fun. Also, Ro has been very careful not to give out her full name in camp - she's only introduced herself as "Ro," not even "Rosalie." This is pretty much going to shoot that effort all to hell. :)
ETA: Okay, fine, six years old. I can get away with that because I misread timelines. She's probably still a bit too articulate, but I refuse to write a lisp and am basing this totally off my niece and nephew both of whom are extreme chatterboxes.
